The surgeon was fine as we the anesthesiologist. However, our experience was traumatic and distressing. My child had surgery and struggled coming out of anesthesia. She woke up terrified and confused which is not uncommon for pediatric patients. She was kept separated from us when she woke up and I heard her screaming for me for a long time down the hall where access was restricted. When they finally brought her to us, she remained confused and agitated. The nurse seemed annoyed that she was reacting the way that she was and was completely useless in trying to calm her. My child was asking for medication and the nurse acted as though it was a ridiculous request even though there were clearly orders from the surgeon for more/different medication. Ultimately, the experience was awful and traumatic for all of us. If this surgery center does not have evidenced based and specific protocols and policies for working with pediatric patients, they should not allow them to be operated on at the facility. So many things could have been done to prevent this. The distress was completely unnecessary.

I thought the entire medical staff from intake through discharge was very professional and kind. The billing department is horrible. Within an hour of scheduling surgery, they called to collect the entire amount of my responsibility which included an overnight stay. I didn’t stay overnight, called billing several times with no response, instead receiving a bill for three times the amount initially quoted. It said a second out-of-network surgeon had been used. When my husband refuted this mistruth, they said they would continue billing our insurance company and the bill was going to go up as a result. That isn’t healthcare; it’s swindling.

The staff here were all so incredible and I hope I don’t have to have surgery again but if so, I hope it’s here. The facility is nice and comfortable too, I felt well taken care of!

Absolutely fantastic facility for surgery. Your get your own room, not just a measly curtain divider. There’s a recliner, a tv and a heater. I felt incredibly taken care of the entire time. The only negative was the wait time. My arrival time was 7:30 am and I didn’t go into the OR until 10:30 am, but still…the staff at TIS was great!

I had an ALIF 360 preformed at TIS and the care I received was stellar. Dr. Wheeler and Jason LaFon his PA answered all of my questions and checked on me constantly. They made I understood what happened during and what to expect afterwards. Dr Heist walked me through the anesthesia process (in layman's terms) and was so considerate. I can't leave out the medical staff! When I say they are the most compassionate, thoughtful, sincere and attentive staff, I've never experienced anything so wonderful. My RNs Lygi, Rachel, Keith, Janina and Kerri went above and beyond to make I was in the least amount of pain and they were always super attentive. My PCT Aster, well let's just say if God were to send an angel from heaven to do good deeds she's who God would send. She took care of me like I was family. Hands down TIS wins the award for exceptional service and care.

Wonderful staff from beginning to end. Carissa at the front is a fantastic person. She made my anxiety melt away. My nurse was phenomenal. She listened to my concerns and was the sweetest person. Wish I could have hugged her. The nurse that went into surgery with my held my hand while I was going to sleep and another held my hand while I was coming out. The PT people were wonderful too. I am so pleased with my experience here and grateful for the kindness that was shown to me. Thank you everyone!!

Would definitely recommend! My son has torn multiple ligaments in his knee while playing in a football game. Dr Brett Raynor and the staff at TIS took great care of us while there for surgery. Dr. Raynor was/is very thorough. He explained everything more than once. His PA was also very nice, clear with instructions and provided means in which to follow up if we had more questions. So glad to be put in his path by my son's team dr., Dr. Walters with Texas Orthopedic Associates. Confident my son will be like new on this journey. Thank you TIS!

Great check-in, pre-op, surgery, post-op care experience for my knee replacement. The PT therapist was also good. I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of the food -- I actually wanted MORE! They get a big demerit, however, for the hurried and impolite way the discharge process was handled. I had an overnight stay. By the time my papers were signed, the two nurses (one of whom fired off constant wisecracks and kept saying 'just KIDDING!' all the time. . .tedious) acted like they couldn't get rid of me and my friend fast enough! The fat little wise-cracker ( who really thought she was funny) was literally *chucking* my belongings to my friend, who was helping me get packed up.
